ABOUT BUCK AND HIS FARM
This farm has been owned by Gerard ‘Buck’ Buchanan for over 40 years
BUCK AND HIS FARM
The farm is home to Buck and his wife Anne. Buck bought the farm when he was 19 years of age. It was originally a dairy farm. Buck planted bananas, mangoes and avocadoes and owned a few head of cattle. In more recent years Buck has diversified, adding to his properties fresh produce.
He cultivates and harvests his very own finger limes that are native to the 350 acre farm. His finger limes have become a delicacy in many top restaurants around the country supplying chefs to the likes of Tetsuya (Sydney) and Rene Redzepi (Noma, Denmark).
BUSH FOODS AND EXOTIC FRUITS
Buck also grows a variety of bush foods such as Davidsons Plums, Lemon Myrtle and Aniseed Myrtle. He also outsourced exotic Asian Fruits and harvests them when in season. These unique, often unheard of fruits, consist of the Himalayan Buddha’s Hand, Japanese Yuzu Fruit and the Kaffir Lime Fruit that is used in Thai cooking. Buck also has the Indian Neem Tree and the ultimate health benefit plant Turmeric.
Buck’s Farm is HACCP certified. His produce is picked daily for people to buy fresh through his farm shop, as well as for use by restaurants, and fruit markets in most states around Australia.
