KAFFIR LIME FRUIT
We grow Kaffir Limes on our property at Chillingham. The rough green fruit grows on very thorny bushes with aromatic and distinctively shaped ‘double’ leaves. The fruit is distinguished by its bumpy exterior and its small size (approx. 4cm in diameter). It is also known as Thia, Makrut, Wild, or Asian Lime. The leaves and the rind are mainly used in cooking for their strong aromatic flavour. The juice and rind is regarded as ‘medicine citrus’ and is used in shampoos, conditioners, creams, astringents and cleaners. We have made our very own natural Kaffir Lime Product Range.
